About the Role
As a Blast Hole Driller, you’ll play a crucial role in our ongoing operations. You’ll be responsible for our drilling machinery’s safe and efficient operation, creating blast holes according to specific design plans under various challenging conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient operation of blast hole drilling machines
- Completion of pre-start checks and performing minor maintenance on equipment
- Accurate daily recording of drilling operations
- Complying with all safety procedures and protocols
- Following detailed drilling plans and adapting to changing conditions
- Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure operations are carried out efficiently and accurately
Skills and Qualifications
- A valid Blast Hole Driller certification
- Experience in a similar role in the mining industry
- A demonstrated ability to adhere to safety procedures and protocols
- Ability to read and understand plans
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of a team
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains
- Must be physically fit and can lift heavy equipment
