About the Role
As a part of the Blast Crew, you’ll be integral to the day-to-day operations working on-site to manage and maintain the equipment necessary for our blasting procedures.
Your primary responsibilities will include the safe handling of explosives, accurately measuring and loading blast holes, tying in blast patterns, and ensuring safety regulations are being met at all times.

Key Responsibilities
Safe Handling and Use of Explosives: Ensure all explosives are stored and handled according to safety regulations. You’ll also set up and execute blasts following the blasting supervisor’s specific parameters.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain a variety of heavy machinery related to the blast operation, including drill rigs, loading machines, and blast equipment.
Communication and Teamwork: Work effectively with the blast crew team to ensure efficient and safe operation. You will play an integral role in relaying critical information to the team and contributing to the team’s overall performance.
Adherence to Safety Regulations: Comply with all company and regulatory safety rules and regulations. You will also regularly participate in safety training sessions to apply your knowledge in the field.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role or in the mining, construction, or related industry
- Up-to-date Blasting Certification or willingness to undergo specialised training
- A strong understanding of key blasting procedures and safety regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Must be able to work in a team environment
